Our vision and dream for Ripe Tomato Pizza started in the Spring of 2012, when five local University of Calgary graduates (and avid pizza lovers) wanted to change the quick serve pizza landscape. We knew there had to be a better and healthier alternative to the conventional quick serve pizza - and we found it after some of the owners had traveled to the motherland and origin of pizzas (Naples, Italy). It's hard not to fall in love with Neapolitan pizzas... the simplicity of preparing it using fresh ingredients, cooking with an open flame, and the flavor from each bite - this is what the quick serve pizza landscape didn't have! So after countless hours of developing, training and of course, tasting, we opened our very first store in May 2013 with a splash.... and haven't looked back since. Our dream is now a reality and are passionately working in bringing our experience to you, our customers.
At Ripe Tomato Pizza, we believe that the quality of a pizza is based on two things: choosing the right ingredients and cooking a pizza the traditional way.
With that in mind, our pizzas are made with high quality and authentic ingredients, starting with fresh dough. Our dough is made with Caputo “00” flour imported from Naples, Italy to create an extraordinary light and soft crust. The crust is spread with our own in house tomato sauce made with Campania tomatoes and topped with delicious combinations of ingredients. This includes using daily made fresh fior di latte from local cheese factory, Alberta Cheese Company Ltd (Franco's Brand), along with meats and cheeses from local Italian market, Scarpone's.
The flavours of our ingredients are further enhanced by cooking our pizza in a specialty forno fire pizza oven.
After placing an order, customers will have their pizza delivered in just a short time… hot, fresh and absolutely delicious!
